JaWaan LaRue better known by stage name "LaRue”,born in Seattle is an American hip hop
recording artist, producer, and song writer, currently based out of Seattle ,WA. Shortly after graduating high school he decided to join the military where he served in the US Army and completed a one-year deployment in support of “Operation Iraqi Freedom” from 2003 - 2004. LaRue first gained attention in 2006 after releasing his freshmen album “I Can Only Be Me” solely produced by Rising Son & Saki XL under City Of Dreams Entertainment. The album single “Certified Hip Hop” received a heavy buzz around the Northwest Region of the United States including radio airplay on Kube 93.3 FM (Seattle, WA), Kexp Street Sounds 90.3 FM (Seattle, WA), Hip Hop 101 Television (Seattle, WA), Rainy Dawg Radio (University of Washington), and 206 Zulu Radio. He has collaborated with Hip Hop innovators APlus of Souls of Mischief, & Hieroglyphics, Ghost wrote music for Domino (rapper from the early 90’s “Sweat Potato Pie”), four city tour with Del Tha Funky Homosapien of Hieroglyphics, and opened for many underground legends such as Macklemore, Mr. Lif, Cage, One Be Lo, Binary Star, Silent Lambs Project, Cool Nutz, Grieves, Madd Illz, Drag On, Specs One, Substantial, and more. LaRue has collaborated with many talented producers around the world including Rising Son (Seattle, WA), Marcus D (Seattle, WA/Japan), Charlie Rock (New York city), Chico Star (Miami, FL), Kay Tenko (UK), Fayrouz Neemah (Switzerland), and more.

In the summer of 2010 LaRue released his sophomore album titled “Saturn Returns” themed after the Saturn Returns
theory of the planet Saturn returning and having an effect on adult life hood. The album was recognized as one of the best local 2010 albums released in Seattle by The Northwest blog. The leading single “Rise Up” is a powerful song that has touched many souls around the world. LaRue pushes positivity by inspiring the masses to Rise Up and stand for equality. The music video can be viewed on youtube.com where videographers Aiden Martin & Rich Phelps team up with LaRue to produce a must see emotional but yet inspiring music video.

In 2011 LaRue moved to Orlando, FL where he pursued his college degree at Full Sail University. Upon arriving LaRue
signed with Conscious Mind Records based out of Orlando, FL. He has performed at University of Central Florida,
Florida State University: Tallahassee, FL, Full Sail University: Winter Park, FL. In addition, he was chosen by the
American Cancer Society to perform in front of 39,000 people at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5k Walk, as well as the 2013 24th Annual Zora Neale Festival, and many other local events in Tampa, Sanford, Winter Park, and St.Petersurg, FL. He currently hosts the Hip Hop’s Ultimate Challenge with Star 94.5 ‘s Radio personality DJ Niecy D and founder of Grind Time Now Mad Illz. Hip Hop Ultimate Challenge is a competition where freestyle MC’s compete
against each other while rapping over producers beats who are also being judged by industry professionals.

On March 30, 2013 he released his third studio album titled “Unconditional”. The tone of the album is a combination of triumph and empowerment mixed with LaRue’s witty since of humor. It features local and international talent such as Palmer Reed, Meangirl & Nirvana Pistol, Treez and includes production from Marcus D, Rising Son, Charlie Rock, Phree Will, Kay Tenko, and more. Unconditional was recorded at the Conscious Mind Records studio near the Lake Eola area in Downtown Orlando. It has a mainstream appeal without the cliché topics, and most of the lyrics are safe for children.LaRue is currently working on a collaborative album with Chico Star based out of Miami, FL as well as writing new material for a LaRue & Marcus D album in 2014.Jawaan LaRue's music is now Aired on Rageneo's Internet Radio Station..Kings Level 3 Radio.
