Mikal Townsend aka Christ’d-Out, was born in South Boston, Virginia. Although he was raised in the church he did not aspire to be a holy hip hop artist. By the age of 12 he had began to compose his own rhymes which were kept secret for a period of time because he was not an out-going person.

However, by the age of 15 Mikal had rapped in numerous talent shows, parties, community events and more.  He was no longer shy about his craft. He had also teamed up with a very close friend to form hip hop duo, “Lyrical G’s”.

Secular rap was very appealing to him at the time but people would always ask him when he was going to do a gospel rap.  Being that Mikal did have a church background he had no problem doing a gospel rap. While in a 2-man rap group called “Southern Boys,” he was able to strike the interest of a promoter that booked the group a show at the New York State Fair and a famous comedy explosion “The New York Kings of Comedy.” As a solo artist Cutta has gained a strong presence on the internet, by way of independent music sites on the web.
