Christ’d Out (Artist Bio)

Mikal Townsend aka Christ’d-Out, was born in South Boston, Virginia. Although he was raised in the church he did not aspire to be a holy hip hop artist. By the age of 12 he had began to compose his own rhymes which were kept secret for a period of time because he was not an out-going person.

However, by the age of 15 Mikal had rapped in numerous talent shows, parties, community events and more.  He was no longer shy about his craft. He had also teamed up with a very close friend to form hip hop duo, “Lyrical G’s”.

Secular rap was very appealing to him at the time but people would always ask him when he was going to do a gospel rap.  Being that Mikal did have a church background he had no problem doing a gospel rap. However, he had never heard of it before. He did not even know that there was such a thing as holy hip hop. Read the rest of this entry »
